How Will I Work The Marine Corps Beachbody Coach Business?

Beachbody gives you a pre-made website with your unique id in it. All you do is send people who are interested in buying a workout or signing up as a coach themselves to it. Beachbody handles the rest. There are many different ways to approach people such as on social media websites like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. Set up challenge groups with friends, family, or Marine workouts based around P90X and Insanity.
Can I Make Money As A Marine Corps Beachbody Coach?

Start one of these every month and you will earn $350 from the 5 packs and $150 a month in residual income from the future orders of Shakeology.

How Do I Get Signed Up As A Marine Corps Beachbody Coach?

1. Click Here To Be A Beachbody Coach

Go through the sign up process and buy whatever you want with the 25% discount. We recommend one of the challenge packs. When you are done with the order, Beachbody will send you a welcome email. You will need to scan a copy of your military id card or a copy of your orders and send them to coachrelations@teambeachbody.com. In the email you will tell them you are active duty military and for them to credit back the $39.95 you paid during sign up.

OR

2. Print Out Military Coach Application Form

For sponsor info put in Joe McHugh and 27319 under Coach ID. Fill out your info and select anything you want. Scan or fax those documents along with your Military ID or orders to coachrelations@teambeachbody.com or (213)-201-7225.

We recommend doing the first one because you will need to have a credit card on file anyways to purchase products. This process is also faster. If you fax in the info it might take a day or two to process. Beachbody will credit back the sign up fee as long as you send in your Military ID or orders within 30 days of signing up. Check out the Military Coach FAQ for more answers. If you have any questions before signing up then feel free to contact me. Otherwise go sign up and we will set up a time to talk.

Leaving Detroit for San Diego was a needed change. I love Michigan, but waiting has never been my strong suit. I’d much rather jump right into it, ready or not. That being said, the wait was worth it: 25 degrees in Detroit, 65 degrees in San Diego. ‘Nuf said.

The trip West started off well. Big Brother hooked me up with a Ford Focus, but the kind fellow at the Alamo Rent-a-Car counter saw to it that I enjoyed three weeks in San Diego with the top down in a Spyder convertible at no additional cost. Thank you, Mister Alamo Giving Marines The Hookup Guy.

We checked into the Martial Arts Instructor Center, MAIC, that Friday and immediately suited up for a Physical Fitness Test or PFT. Since the weather has been so completely permissive in MI, with snow and ice on the ground for the past couple months, I hadn’t run a single mile outdoors since October. So naturally, I was curious to see how I’d perform on the three mile run after having completed the Insanity program but without additional run training. I had a feeling that I’d do well enough after scoring a 293 of 300 in a surprise Combat Fitness Test (CFT) in the snow two days earlier at my unit in Selfridge, MI.

My 20:44 three mile time wasn’t my best, but it was about two minutes better than where I left off at Logistics Course in September, so I was pleased. It was good enough for fourth place of 20, which sounds good, but as the only officer, I should have finished first. 16 pull-ups and 100 crunches in one minute five seconds. A bit light in the pull up department, but I can fix that by adding the Major Armstrong program to Insanity.

My day starts at 4:15am, arrive at class at 6am and return to the hotel around 6pm. Long day, but fun. In our first week, we reviewed MCMAP, Marine Corps Martial Arts Program, techniques from Tan and Gray belts, of which the practical application included boxing, kick boxing and ground fighting (wrestling). Yes, Paul (my bro), you better watch yourself when I’m home next or you might find yourself in an arm-bar leg lock!

The course is fantastic: martial arts, intense exercise and public speaking practice. After all, we’re going to graduate as Instructors, which means we’ll be teaching other Marines. Pretty exciting stuff, really. The exercise (physical training or PT) has been brutal even for having graduated the Insanity program. Thank God for Insanity because without it, I’d be getting killed. You should see some of the PT events… We did a squad exercise in which the class competed 10 v 10. Exercises included standing buddy situps, squad pushups, buddy squats, bear crawl buddy drag and more. Explanation as follows:

Standing buddy situps: Reverse piggy back or piggy front, if you will. Person standing holds partner by legs and allows partner to extend down to ground and curl body back up like a vertical situp.

Squad Pushups: Imagine 10 people doing pushups head to toe. Now, put your feet on the shoulders of the person behind you. Multiply that by 10 and you have only the legs of the rear-most Marine on the ground with all other feet on the back of the person behind you in line. Then push up and down in unison. Easier said than done.

Buddy Squats: This one isn’t that bad. Sling your partner over your shoulder fireman-carry style and squat in unison with your squad-mates.

Bear crawl buddy drag: Crawl like a baby on all fours, but don’t let your knees touch the ground and you have a bear crawl, kind of like a reverse crab walk. Now add the body weight of a Marine holding onto your belt as you crawl 20 meters. Fun!

More intense exercise is on tap for this week, including squad competitions, O-Course with flak jackets and Green Belt techniques. We’ve already learned some useful counter to punch chokes, throws and submission moves. We even learned how to immobilize an opponent with our pinky finger! (Jay, that one’s for you.)

Til next week,
Semper Fi,
Joe

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I’m training with Shaun T’s <a href="http://teambeachbody.com/shop/-/shopping/Insanity?referringRepId=27319"target="_blank">Insanity to prepare for the <a href="http://www.leatherneck.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-42200.html"target="_blank">Green Belt Instructor Course at SOI West, Camp Pendleton. Here are my results after just two weeks of Insanity training:

The drop in switch kicks is attributed to executing the move with poor form the during the Initial Test. However, as you can see, with just two weeks of intense <a href="http://teambeachbody.com/shop/-/shopping/Insanity?referringRepId=27319"target="_blank">Insanity training, my cardio improved significantly, an average of 30%.

As I progress with the workout program, I fully expect to continue these stellar (some might call “insane”) results. The real proof will be in January when I start <a href="http://www.leatherneck.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-42200.html"target="_blank">Green Belt Instructor’s Course at SOI West.

Yesterday was the 234th Birthday of the United States Marine Corps. There’s a nice short read from <a href="http://www.marines.com/""target=blank">Marines.com on the founding of the Marine Corps.

<a href="http://www.marines.com/""target=blank">1775: Founding of the Marine Corps
A LEGACY IS BORN

During the American Revolution, many important political discussions took place in the inns and taverns of Philadelphia, including the founding of the Marine Corps.

A committee of the Continental Congress met at Tun Tavern to draft a resolution calling for two battalions of Marines able to fight for independence at sea and on shore.

The resolution was approved on November 10, 1775, officially forming the Continental Marines.

As the first order of business, Samuel Nicholas became Commandant of the newly formed Marines. Tun Tavern’s owner and popular patriot, Robert Mullan, became his first captain and recruiter. They began gathering support and were ready for action by early 1776.

Each year, the Marine Corps marks November 10th with a celebration of the brave spirit which compelled these men and thousands since to defend our country as United States Marines.

…

In 1921, General Lejeune, 13th Commandant of the Marine Corps issued an order <a href="http://www.usmcpress.com/heritage/marine_corps_birthday.htm""target=blank">summarizing the history, mission and tradition of the Marine Corps and further directed that the order be read to all Marines on 10 NOV to honor the founding of our US Marine Corps. As the tradition grew, we began to celebrate our birthday and in 1925, held the first Marine Corps Birthday Ball, which I’ll attend this Saturday, (well, not the first one…that was in 1925!) at the Romulus, MI Crowne Plaza Hotel with 1st Battalion 24 Marines.

It’s the middle of November, not quite a full month after graduating from Logistics Officer Course, and I’ve started <a href="http://teambeachbody.com/shop/-/shopping/Insanity?referringRepId=27319"target="_blank">Insanity for the first time. Just today, I received confirmation that I’ll be attending <a href="http://www.okinawa.usmc.mil/public%20affairs%20info/Archive%20News%20Pages/2009/090612-greenbelt.html""target="_blank">Green Belt Instructor Course in January at <a href="http://www.marines.mil/units/hqmc/tecom/soiwest/Pages/welcome.aspx""target="_blank">SOI West (School of Infantry), Camp Pendleton, CA.

In addition to training to the standards of the Marine Corps Green Belt, part of the <a href="http://www.tecom.usmc.mil/mace/"target="_blank">Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP), I’ll be put through myriad physical fitness tests to include the <a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/ExtremeMarineWorkout#p/a/f/0/hLiwwnyucZk""target="_blank">O-Course.

For those of you who haven’t yet had the pleasure of navigating the Obstacle Course, watch this <a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/ExtremeMarineWorkout#p/a/f/0/hLiwwnyucZk""target="_blank">video. Notice the scaling walls, balance log, high bar, jumping high logs, parallel bars and climbing rope climb to finish it off. Every obstacle in the course tests your agility and core strength. As you improve in both areas, the speed with which you pass through the course will improve as well. <a href="http://teambeachbody.com/shop/-/shopping/Insanity?referringRepId=27319"target="_blank">Insanity is the perfect program for dominating the O-Course.

Tomorrow, I’ll start the review process of one <a href="http://teambeachbody.com/shop/-/shopping/Insanity?referringRepId=27319"target="_blank">Insanity workout per day as the workout relates to Marine Corps fitness.

There's not really any good reason for the poor run time other than it just being a slow day. That happens sometimes. On the other hand, sit-ups improved as did the pull-ups. Not only did I do those before running, I had extra motivation that day as well. Still not good enough to sit on my laurels, but it's an improvement.

My personal best PFT score was a 283 at OCS in December 2008. 100 sit-ups, 19 pull-ups and a run time of 20:13. Best run time was my initial PFT at OCS in October 2008, 19:59. Working to get back to that.

If struggling with a low energy level, add an extra day of rest and reduce the number of workouts. To battle soreness increase stretching, drink lots of water, and eat a nutritious diet.

Day:

Chin-up test, 7 mile run (time test 1st 3 miles), P90X Chest & Back DVD

10 400m sprints for time, 6 100m sprints, P90X Plyometrics DVD

P90X Shoulders & Arms DVD, Free Swim, P90X Ab Ripper X DVD

4 800m sprints for time, 6 300m sprints for time, P90X Yoga X DVD

P90X Legs & Back DVD, Free Swim

P90X Kenpo X DVD, Bonus Activity (Indoor Soccer Game)

REST!!!

All runs should be timed and recorded. Set a goal for each distance and rep. For example: We strive to complete each 400m sprint in less than 90 seconds.

Remember to enjoy a P90X Recovery Drink or Whey Protein Smoothie following P90X workouts with weights. This will improve muscle gains and prevent fatigue.
